And now … some scary-good tricks to celebrate your Halloween!

Excel Concatenation
To join cells in Excel, use the Concatenation formula. If you want to create a Full Name cell in C3 from the existing First and Last Name cells in your spreadsheet located in A3 and B3, your formula in C3 would look like this: =A3&" "&B3

Email SPAM & Spoofs
If you often receive important emails from senders you don't know personally (like if you're providing customer service to the public), it's important to be able to distinguish between SPAM or Spoofs and emails that might be important to your business. Viewing the Internet Headers on an email can often be helpful in determining whether or not you should consider opening a stranger's email message. In Outlook 2000, 2002 or 2003, simply Right Click on the email line in your Inbox, select Options, and read the Internet Headers at the bottom. At first it might seem like gibberish, but soon you'll start recognizing patterns. For starters, check the Return Path. If it matches your Sender's email address, the email has a better chance of being legitimate. If it says something unexpected like … Return Path: 'winningnotification@uknational-lottery.the-office.org.uk', then you know it's SPAM and you can avoid opening it. This might even protect you from accidentally acquiring a virus. Keep in mind that sophisticated spammers and malicious senders know how to falsify Header information, so it's not 100% reliable.

Have a safe and fun Halloween celebration! And keep making Magic with your computers!
