Everyone’s in Back-to-School mode now, still wondering where the Summer went, and looking forward to diving into new studies and learning new skills. If you’ve been thinking of sharpening your software skills too, now’s a great time to look at Computer Magic Training’s class offerings.

Variety of Excel Classes
Excel continues to be our most in-demand topic, as employers seek sharp Excel skills over all other applications. Are you aware of the wide breadth of Excel classes that we offer? (including many classes taught by world-renowned Excel MVP Expert* Shane Devenshire!)

You can find detailed Course Outlines and free Skills Assessments under each class listed on our Class Schedules page of our web site.

Classroom Expansion
We just received 10 more Dell computers for our new classroom, making a total of 17 student stations. We’ll have 19” Dell Ultra-Sharp LCD Monitors, full size keyboards and mice to use with each laptop, for the ultimate in comfort and convenience for our students. Feel free to come by our training facility on Moorpark Avenue in San Jose to see our newly remodeled facilities!

Dell Laptop Rentals
For corporate group classes held at YOUR facility, we can now provide up to 18 Dell laptops for your training convenience. Give us a call if you’re interested in renting our fleet of laptop computers to allow you to meet your needs for future training classes at your corporate site.

Supporting our Local Artists
Next time you’re at Computer Magic Training for classes, you’ll want to notice some new pieces from local artists.

A fun clock from the Contemporary Pop Art collection of Sonya Paz provides a heart-felt sense of timing. You may have seen Sonya’s studio in Santa Clara or her galleries previously at Santana Row and now in downtown Campbell. Her works are an explosion of color and form with artistic influences from Pop, Modernism, Cubism and Surrealism.

And six original pieces of abstract art grace our offices from artist Simone Raoux, acrylics on canvas in beautiful, bright colors in our blue & gold design theme. By day, Ms. Raoux is a Physicist for IBM’s Research division, working on the next-next semiconductor technologies, and in the evening dons her painter’s gown for a left-to-right-brain switch to artist at The Alameda Artworks Studio in San Jose. Her works are nothing short of stunning, and we fell in love with them at first sight. In Simone’s own words, “My ultimate goal is to make peoples’ lives more beautiful with my paintings. I want my paintings to be the visual equivalent of a beautiful soprano aria, full of color, emotions, passion and beauty.” We couldn’t agree more! We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

New Marketing Manager
Some of our students will be getting a call from our new Marketing Manager, John Bialy, who is busily acquainting himself with our clientele and soliciting feedback from our students. He’s hearing wonderful comments from our students about the outstanding quality of our trainers, the beautiful facilities, and the unique personal attention that they receive from all of us at Computer Magic Training. Thank you for welcoming him to our team and providing your feedback to him!

Tips & Tricks
Here’s a little-known shortcut: In Excel, you can quickly duplicate the cell above with [Ctrl] + D. Impress your co-workers with your efficiency with this shortcut!

In PowerPoint, you may already know you can move an object with the arrow key on your keyboard – we call that a nudge. You can also give it a “half-nudge” by pressing [Ctrl] and the arrow key to move it ever so slightly. This helps you to get more precise positioning of your objects.
