Website Improvements – Update your Bookmarks!
We've almost completed our backend database website changes – over the last few months, we temporarily set up a site at ComputerMagicTraining.NET to develop and test a MySQL database and PHP, changing the way we handle class listings and online registration. We recently switched the web host for our sites and migrated the improved site back from the .NET to the .COM site. In short, we now have a .COM site that's easier to update and maintain with an improved online registration process. If you have bookmarks to our site, please visit computermagictraining.com and update your bookmarks.
New Magical People – Computer Magic Training is growing!
You may have already noticed the magic … we have some new wizardly faces at Computer Magic Training. You already know Maria Pasiuk, our Operations Manager, who recently celebrated her 1-year anniversary with us. Maria manages the classrooms with exceptional quality and is delighted to support all your registration activity. Our newest addition at our front desk is Angie Cruz, who greets our students with a cheery smile. Angie has recently returned to work after raising her family, and she brings fantastic energy to our organization. We knew she’d be a great fit after hearing that her kids’ friends call her “Mom”. Behind the scenes, Lynn Deglin is our Special Projects Manager. Her background in IT and Project Management, as well as her recent entrée into the world of photography and graphics design, give her a wide range of talents to contribute to our organization. Jil (with one “L”) Conway is our amazing bookkeeper, and an absolute wizard with Quickbooks. And John Bialy, our new Marketing Manager, is helping us plan a new marketing program to attract new clients after our expansion! These people are all dedicated to making your experience with us even more magical. Go Team!!
Roaming Training Wizard in September
Our delightful trainer Maria Pribyl is taking September “off” from teaching regular classes to spend some quality time with her son Victor after school. She’ll miss it (and us) if she can’t use her wizardly teaching skills all month … so she’s available as a Roaming Trainer, a Productivity Wizard, a Work Tutor … and will impart her vast software knowledge to you or your employees any day from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Imagine, having a trainer dedicated just to YOU for an hour or more! What would YOU like to learn? How could YOU be more productive with some personal training? Want to learn some crucial tasks in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, FrontPage AND Outlook … all in just a few hours? Your own Training Genie … Your wish is Maria’s command! Just wiggle your nose … or give us a call to set up an appointment.
Tips & Tricks
Here’s a quick tip … in Office 2003 or 2007, when you use the File/Open (Ctrl + O) command, you get a dialog box. On the left side of the dialog box is a vertical series of icons for typical file locations … My Recent Documents, Desktop, My Documents, My Computer, My Network Places … and Office 2007 includes Trusted Templates. You might not like the pre-arranged order of these icons, and you might want to rearrange them up or down depending on your filing priorities. Just Right-Click on one of the icons, and select Move Up or Move Down. It will move up or down one position each time you select it. You can move them around to fit your filing preferences!
