This one-day class
examines the following functions and their application to real world
problems:
MIN, MAX, AVERAGE, COUNT, COUNTA, COUNTBLANK, MEDIAN, MODE, LEN, &, LEFT,
RIGHT, MID, FIND, TRIM, CLEAN, D-Functions, DATEDIF, EOMONTH, EDATE,
NETWORKDAYS, WEEKNUM, WORKDAY, WEEKDAY, DAY, MONTH, YEAR, NOW, TODAY, UPPER,
LOWER, and PROPER.Other
functions that will be used in support of the main functions include:
EXACT, INDIRECT, IF, OFFSET, and N |

This class will also demonstrate the
use
of absolute and relative cell references, range names, the
union
operator, and conditional formatting with formulas. The student will
learn time saving techniques for entering and
editing
formulas. They will also learn methods for creating and analyzing complex
formulas including an introduction to the power of array formulas.
For each function, example exercises
are presented at three levels:
Basic
– the
syntax,
the
structure and
arguments of a function, Intermediate – common
uses
of the function, Advanced – sophisticated application of the function.
The student is encouraged to bring
function related problems to class. |
